Unity Itty Bitty Challenge

Unity Stamp Co has started a new daily challenge over on their Facebook page - Unity Show & Tell!  Angela is giving a way an itty bitty a day!  So simple and fun!

Here is my card for today using the itty bitty called Tinsel in a Tangle!  Christmas in July baby!

I combined this awesome guy with some paper by Autentique from the Collection: Festive.  I love distressing edges so with the Tim Holtz distressed tool I did that all around on all layers.

Be sure to swing on my Unity Show & Tell and if you love Growing in Unity come join us on our new FB page HERE!

Sweet Stamp Shop Challenge

Hey there!

So last week was a super busy one but this week I'm trying to get some craftiness going a bit.  I played along with the Sweet Stamp Shop Use What You Have Challenge HERE.

I was at a class this weekend and they were talking about how Basic Grey used to be a hugely popular paper line.  I'd imagine it is still but I don't hear about it as much as I did a few years ago.  I do have ALOT of BG 6x6 pads and many old ones.  So I thought I should take one of those old ones I hadn't used in a while for this challenge.  I also have to work on Thank You cards for my birthday so I figured it was a perfect time.

Here is my "stash" I used:

And here is one of the Thank you cards I made:

I made more using this stash so I will post another one tomorrow so stay tuned!

I didn't grab a picture of the set with the butterfly but it is called Happy Bugs.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Friends with Flair Friday

It's Friday and time for Friends with Flair Unity Style.  This week was CHA in Las Vegas, Unity didn't go this year but they hosted a little party HERE.  Angela provided a GREAT Unity digi image.

Here is what I made using the digi provided:

This week has been super busy for me.  It started last Saturday with a surprise 40th birthday party for me from my hubby.  Then this week he was off on vacation and we did something each day with the kids.  Last night it was the Bon Jovi concert, anyone who knows me that is my man!  And today I get to take a class with Donna Downey, then tomorrow hosting about 60 for my husband co workers as a summer BBQ.

Thanks to Angela for providing this great Unity image to play with and a chance to win a guest designer spot at Unity another possibility that is high on my list of amazing things!

Friends with Flair Friday

So last week I was on a roll creating mixed media pages.  I was inspired by seeing all the scrapbook pages done in a mixed media style.  So I thought.... I love to create fun backgrounds in my journal with sprays, inks, paints, stencils etc.  So why not do that and add pictures for scrapbook pages?

I took my basic white cardstock (Georgia Pacific from Walmart and now I've seen it at BJ's) and I gesso'd a bunch and went to work.

Here is a picture of a bunch of them:

Here is a picture of the one I will share with you guys today:

The background is created with Dylusions Sprays and some stencils.  All the stamping is of course Unity Stamp Co itty bitty's and the border is from a kit called Sweet & Sour Soup.

Well thanks so much for stopping by today!  Be sure to check out UNITY's great sale this weekend of 40% off!

That's all for now!

Sweet Stamp Shop Challenge

So the summer has been busy running around with the kids but I'm trying to take some time to play.  This week I played along with the Sweet Stamp Shop's use what you have challenge.  So I pulled out some old Webster's Pages paper and snowflake buttons.  The SSS stamp set that I used I had in my stash for a while so I figured that counts as well.

I originally wanted to use the flowers pictured but in the end I did not because later I found the snowflake buttons to use.

Here is my simple card:

This is from the SSS set called Tree Traditions.

To color the car and tree I used Distress Markers:

Well that's all for now keeping it simple!

Today I have a super simple tag I made this week:

I used Distress Stains, white acrylic paint and a star stencil in the background.  The stamp is "Different Dreams" a fabulous background stamp!

Keeping it simple!  Kids are on summer vacation so time is hard to find! LOL!  But today they are working with Daddy so Mommy is going to Michaels! :)

A Mixed Media Color Challenge

Have you seen the new Mixed Media challenge blog called A MIXED MEDIA COLOR CHALLENGE?  Mona Pendelton has started this blog with a friend and its' totally awesome.

As you know I have been LOVING art journaling lately so I had to play along!  The rules are simple use the colors indicated and at least 2 types of mediums on your creation.

I decided to use my owl book.  In case you are not familiar with my owl book check out this post or this video where I talk about my art journals:

I pulled out a new Unity owl I love called You Always.  I also used other Unity stamps and Tim Holtz background stamps as well as a Micheal's dollar bin one.  In the slide show video below I show photos of the supplies.  If you have any questions let me know!

I've also created a little video slideshow sharing some steps and supplies.  To meet the requirements of the challenge though I did use the colors Pink, Peach and yellow as well as at least 2 mediums.  I used a Dylusion Spray, Distress Ink, Distress stain, archival ink, and markers.

Well that's all for today!

Thanks for stopping by!!!
