Stamp TV CSS Team - Tryouts

Gina K from Gina K Designs/Stamp TV has started a new way to search for their new CSS team each month. Now there will be audtions based of course on a fun challenge. This month Gina's challenge is to use a new set from the new release as well as 2 of the colors from the Spring Assortment of Pure Luxury Cardstock.

Here is my first submission :-)

This is using Melanie's new set called Pressed Flowers. This set is awesome because it contains all bold fun images but they are the same images as in the A Year of Flowers set. SOOOO... it makes for perfect 2 step stamping!! I didn't do that here since the challenge was to use a new set and I figured it should just be a new set only.

Here is a close up of the glittery flower:
The pure luxury cardstock I used is Creme de Menthe and Innocent pink. I also used the awesome digi paper called Wings of Hope also from this new release. In the corner I added a little square where I wanted a sentiment of some sort so I decided to just use one of the other sheets from Wings of Hope digi set as my "sentiment" square. I used nesties to cut out the mat of Creme de Menthe with the paper. The beautiful ribbon is ribbon that came in the Stamp TV Organize It kit from last month.

I was really happy with how this turned out. I used all GKD products except for the embossing powder. Funny story there.... I decided that I wanted one of the roses all glittery for the top. SO I said I'll use some Dazzling Diamonds (SU) because that is so nice and glittery! (are you going to hit me now?) I spent no joke about 20 mins trying to emboss the darn flower and it wouldn't work. Then I thought it was the way I was doing it, using the embossing ink then the pink ink. FINALLY LIGHTBULB and I realized that I was not using embossing powder! WOW, SMACK! Seriously it was tooo funny! I laughed for a while. I must have been a bit tired when I was doing this.

Anyhow, off this creation goes as an entry to the contest. I've also posted it on Stamp TV HERE. We'll see.

Thanks for stopping by!

Just Us Girls Template Challenge

Ready for another fun challenge with Just Us Girls? It's Saturday and this week is template week. As you may know already the fabulous Lauren Meader, owner and template extraordinaire of My Time Made Easy is our template challenge sponsor!
The JUGS team's challenge from Lauren this month was to use her Under Cover template with one of her cute critter cut files. She currently has two fun animal critter cut files in the store called Heart Stealer Raccoon and Whooty Owl. I am using the Bouncing Bunny which is a sneaky peek as to what is to come on March 1. You will want to try and play along this week as there is a fun prize being offered.

Here is what I came up with:

If you own a Cricut machine but need the Sure Cuts A Lot (SCAL) software to go with it then be sure to visit CandaCraft. Canda has offered up a discount of 10% off your entire purchase. Use code JUGS315 which expires 3/15/2010.

Be sure to swing by the JUGS DT for wonderful inspiration. And play along with us by linking your project with a chance to win one of Lauren's templates on the JUGS BLOG HERE!

Ippity Stamps

Ippity

Have you seen the sister company of Unity called Ippity yet? Well it's the same amazing Unity style and quality but you can't buy them anywhere except through an Ippity Rep!
For those who are not familiar it is a rubber stamp company of amazing quality. Ippity stamps come unmounted which means there is no wood attached just a cling cushion. This is fabulous for storage and travelling very light weight. All you will need is an acrylic stamp mount to have it "cling" to.

I've decided to jump on the bandwagon and get started with Ippity. I created a separate page here on my blog for my Ippity info and will continue to add to it as it all comes together. I will have a few sets in stock and ready to ship but will have access to sell any sets they have to offer. In addition there will be options to order the set with a card kit and I'm looking into offering some acrylic mounts as well.

If you are interested you can join my Ippity club where you can receive a new set each month at one low price which will include a fun card kit from me as well. Stay tuned for more details in the Ippity tab. I would love to hear from you if you are interested so leave me a comment or send me a mail!

Any questions please feel free to contact me.

Hoppy Friend

I participated in this week's sketch over at CPS Card Sketches. I decided to use this cute bunny from the Treehouse Stamps Digi Collection. This bunny is part of the digi set called My Hoppy Friend.

I pulled from my scrap stash of pattern papers for this one and used SU and GKD solids. I added stickles to his tail and nose and used Copics to color.

Be sure to swing by The Treehouse to check out all the new digi's they have in store! While you are there you will see an awesome video on how to use digi's if you are new to them.

Butons, Buttons, Buttons

One of the new release challenges at Gina K is to use at least 3 buttons on your card. Gotta love buttons and Gina K sells some awesome ones that coordinate with her pure luxury paper.

Here is what I came up with using the Wishes and Dreams set as well as Melanie's Inspiration Mosaic Set:

I used the Gina K pure luxury passionate pink cardstock and buttons by GKD. My pattern paper is by Stampin Up. I pieced it in Melanie's Inspiration Mosaic set.

Did you know there's a new club over at Stamp TV, we call it the "Ginaholics PLPS club"! :-) It's for all those Gina K Pure Luxury cardstock paper snobs out there! I am a self proclaimed Pure Luxury Paper Snob! If you have not tried the GKD paper yet you must! It's so super awesome, a very heavy weight cardstock that can't be beat.

Well that's all for now!

Happy Day before Valentine's Day!
Welcome to the Just Us Girls 20th challenge! Can you believe it's been 20 weeks? Time really flies and it's been a blast working with the JUGS team!

This week our fabulous Lisa is our hostess and she challenges us to use the split negative technique! This is a super fun and super cool technique. I love Gina K's tutorial over at Stamp TV HERE. Gina shows the technique via a video tutorial that rocks.

For this challenge in honor of Valentine's Day I chose to use a fun chunky stamp from Unity Stamp Co. Here is what I came up with:

A Word From Our Sponsor....

Sew Many Cards has the best sponsors! Today I want to share with you something I made using the sponsor Cutting Cafe! This is a fantastic all digi store with some awesome images!

This fun image is from one of their Valentine's Sets and the background paper is some background or digi papers. I used Gina K as my base.

This is a very simple design but I like how it turned out. The "sentiment" image works wonderfully. I digitally colored the hearts in the image.

Well that's it for now!

With Love

One of the amazing sponsors this month at Sew Many Cards is an awesome rubber stamp company called Wags n Whiskers. I had the opportunity to play with one of their images called With Love.

Check out this cutie:

She was such fun to color. I used all copic markers to color her and I had to add some glitz by using Cotton Candy stickles to the mailbox! The pattern paper in the background is by Memory box and the texture is my Swiss Dots embossing folder for the cuttlebug. My base is Innocent Pink by Gina K.

Be sure on Friday to check out the weekly Sew Many Cards challenge .

How can I not participate in this challenge. The challenge is to use one of her most popular and wonderful sets called A Year of Flowers. This set is one of my most used Gina K sets and it's fabulous!

This is my submission and it's also the sketch for Friday Sketchers.

Just Us Girls Saturday Challenge

Welcome to the 19th Just Us Girls challenge! This week our wonderful Tracey is our hostess and she has a fantastic sketch challenge for us.

This is a fun one with the circles. For this I used my plain and scalloped circle nesties. I also used this sketch for the color challenge at Stamp TV this week which were to use sage green, yellow, black and white.

Here is what I came up with:

Here is a close up:

I used the butterfly from the Gina K set called Take Flight and the sentiment from the set called Wishes & Dreams. Check out that little bird on the patterned paper isn't he cute? I just thought it would be great in that circle as if he is looking up at the butterfly. The "sage" colored pattern paper comes from a DCWV pack and the yellow is I believe Daisy Bucket. I used Gina K pure luxury black cardstock that came in my Organize It Stamp TV kit. I added little faux pearls to the middle of the butterfly and the upper right corner of the card.
