My Time To Create Challenge

It's Saturday and that means a challenge from Lauren Meader. Lauren has offered a new sketch challenge every Saturday for a long time and now it's time to mix it up a bit. Now Sketch Time Saturday will be called My Time To Create. Each week will be something a little bit different, but don't worry for all you sketch maniacs there will still be a sketch challenge in the mix.

This week it's a color challenge.

Check out that awesome purse! I love purses, no joke have at least 150 bags! LOL! Of course you may not have those exact shades of the colors (I didn't) but make do with what you have that comes close at least.

For this challenge I took those colors and put them into a layout:

This is a photo from a recent visit to the zoo. I really love how it turned out and what fun to make a LO with it. I used images by Unity Stamp Co. and papers by DCWV and Bazzill.

Be sure to swing by Lauren's Blog to see what else was cooked up for this challenge and to see who Lauren picked from her recent Weekly Challenge DT call!

Hip Hop Hangover

Hip Hop Hangover

Are you hung over? Fridays are Hip Hop Hangover with the Unity gals. I have two Unity creations to share this week.

Have you checked out the Unity Place yet? If not you must. It's a cool new place in addition to SCS to hang out with the Unity Peeps. Each week the lovely Amber will post a cool new sketch to play along with. This week she had a cool and simple sketch to play with.

Here is Amber's sketch:

Here is my sample. I decided to get a little scrappy instead of making a card:

I figured it would be a good time to start wishing Unity a Happy Birthday! Next week starts their week long first birthday celebration!

Next up is for this week's Unity Addicts Challenge. We made cards from something recycled to celebrate Earth Day.

That's it for now.

Clear & Simple: Take the Challenge Eco Chic Style

What are you doing for Earth Day? Today is a special Take the Challenge edition with the Clear & Simple Design team. Our challenge was to create something by recycling something. Here is a card I made:

I cut up a paper bag I got when I purchased something at Walgreens. It worked as the perfect background against the Garden Darling stamp. I then pulled out a Bj's catalogue and punched out flowers using some cool photos of sunflowers.

You will also want to check out the awesome new sets CSS has available to preorder starting today as a special release for Earth Day. Check it out in their store here.

Come stop by our PCP forum and share you Earth Day projects.

Mothers & Daughters Scrapbook Challenge

Happy Monday! I hope that you had a nice weekend. We had some nice weather and now today it's really cold and rainy!

Anyhow, Mondays mean another fun challenge with the Mothers & Daughters Creations Scrapbook team. The challenge this week was to use a sketch at 52 Sketches. Since the sketches are updated weekly on a Sunday and our challenge is for monday I used "last week's" sketch number 15.

Here is my take on the sketch:

I used pattern paper by Imaginisce and the cool flower in the lower left is a chip board piece by Scenic Route. That I painted with a shimmery acrylic paint.

Be sure to swing by the MDC Challenge blog and check out what the other DT members came up with.

Saturday Sketch Time

Saturday can only mean another My Time My Saturday Sketch by Lauren. I'm sure you are familiar with Lauren and her amazing work so get ready for some fun things coming up regarding her Saturday sketches. You will want to play along.

Here is this week's sketch:

I've been all over scrapbook pages lately and I felt inspired to make a scrapbook page using Lauren's sketch this week. Recently, I bought a new scrapbook in 8 1/2 x 11 so I thought this sketch would work well in that size.

Here is what I came up with:

I added a few "extra" elements but I just had to. I used a chipboard K (I know the mytimeness in the upper corner is not part of the sketch :-)) which I painted and put pink glitter on. I was going to spell out my daughter's name Kaitlyn but time got away. Then I decided to add some photo corners as well.

Be sure to swing by Lauren's blog and check our her awesome stuff, I'm sure her creation for this sketch will blow you away. Also be sure to swing by the rest of the Saturday Sketch Team to see what they cooked up for this week's challenge:

Unity Hip Hop Hangover and Cafe Mojo Challenge

Fridays mean Unity Hip Hop Hangover and another fun challenge with the gals at the Cafe, Cafe Mojo that is.

This week's challenge at Cafe Mojo was to use buttons in a fun way. I will admit I ran short on time but did have this cute creation in my Unity folder that uses buttons on this awesome giggle tree.

I believe this might have been a case of another card and for a challenge some time ago but it fits into this challenge quite nice. The background green is by Stampin Up and the pp is by Basic Grey. All images are Unity Stamp Co.

Be sure to swing by Cafe Mojo to see what the other DT members cooked up for this awesome and fun button challenge and we hope that you will play along.

Clear & Simple Stamps - Take the Challenge Tuesday

The first Tuesday of each month is Take the Challenge Tuesday at Clear & Simple Stamps. This month the challenge is Paper Piecing. This is a technique that I love, a great way to use all that awesome pattern paper you have. Or a great way if you don't want to color your image :-)

For my creation I stepped outside the box and did not do a card or a layout. I used Glamour Darling for door hanger and paper pieced her skirt.

Be sure to swing on by the gals on the DT to see what they cooked up for this fun challenge:

Saturday Sketch Time!

It's Saturday and another awesome sketch from Miss Lauren. Here is this week's sketch.

Here is what I came up with. I used the Holiday Defined set by Clear & Simple Stamps.

I really loved how this one turned out. Unfortunately the weather was bad here today so I could not get a nice photo outside. The flowers in used are Prima Flowers. I have to say I am so loving my Primas I got a while ago. I got a big bucket of them for 1/2 price when a local scrapbook store went out of business.

I hope you will play along with Lauren and her awesome sketch. Be sure to swing by the rest of her Sketch DT to see what everyone else came up with.

Unity Hip Hop Hangover

Hip Hop Hangover

Are you hung over? Not that way but do you have a Unity's Hip Hop Hangover? I didn't get much of a chance to hop yesterday but of course did check in. Did you see the awesome new "bundles" released! I am definitely getting one if not both, I of course have a boy and girl. But I'm thinking of getting the girl one with the cute train single. We'll see...

Anyhow, this is something I created for our Unity Addicts Challenge this past week. It was my turn to pick and I decided to pick an inspiration challenge. We used the big blog hop banner from last Saturday as inspiration. I ended up not using the colors but the layout. This did turn out to be a nice spring card though. I LOVE the Unity Butterflies!
