Queen Kat Royal Wednesday

I can't believe 2008 is over, time flies way too fast! I also can't believe my little ones are turning three in March! How does that happen?

Well, here is another edition of Royal Kat Wednesday for your New Years Eve. SO, I decided to make this week's challenge a "shortie" challenge. You need to make a shortie or a few and add them to your card. What is a shortie you may ask? Well you've heard of inchies, but those darn things are way too small. So shorties are a still small but a little bit bigger. Your shortie should measure 1.5" X 1.75" . My sample is a little sneak peek at what is to come during the January release, it's from the Home set.

Come play along for Royal Wednesday and post your awesome creations in our forum at Paper Craft Planet.

Let's get ready for an awesome 2009 and lots more fun with Royal Kat Wednesday and all the challenges with the Royal court and friends. Invite all your friends to come play.

A great way to collect Queen Kat stamps is to join one of the awesome kit clubs, that way you will get new stamps automatically each month. It's a no brainer go check it out in the store HERE I want to hear about what kit you sign up for!

Take out the Trash Challenge

This week the scrapbook design team of Mothers & Daughters Creations is working on a challenge called "Take out the Trash". It is to use your scraps and random embellishments. I paired this challenge with Friday's sketch challenge at SCS.

Mine really came out random, I'm not sure yet what I think. All the paper I used was in my scrap pile of papers. I did not have to cut anything from a full regular sheet. The main title sentiment is by Daisy Bucket. The sentiment in the little tags on bottom are rub ons by Imaginisce. The pattern papers are by Imaginisce and Daisy Bucket. The pretty flower in the scallop circle is awesome delicate washi paper by Hanko Designs. I had this in my pile as well, I put it together a long time ago and never used it.

Be sure to swing by the MDC Challenge Blog to see what the Design Team cooked up. Also come check out our forum at Paper Craft Planet.

That's it for now. Till later.....

Saturday Sketch Time

I hope everyone had a fantastic Holiday. I sure did, I'm still tired. Last week I missed Lauren's wonderful sketch but I'm back with this week's.

This week I pulled out my stamps by Queen Kat Designs. This great butterfly is from the Friends set.

I used pattern papers by Making Memories and solids by SU. I trimmed the butterfly using my yellow glitter spica pen. This was a super fun sketch to work with. I hope you will try it also. Don't forget to stop by the blogs of the other Saturday Sketch Girls as well.

Queen Kat Royal Wednesday

It's the Christmas Eve edition of Queen Kat Royal Wednesday! This week the challenge is to "Glitter Up"! Pull out all that glitter you have been hoarding and get crackin.

For this I used my Mr. Robot from the Over the Moon set. I love this guy, but you may have noticed that. He has become "my thing" for the each holiday, you will see him again! :-) My background pattern paper is by DCWV and I used lots of STICKLES! I cut him out and adhered him on a piece cut using my rectangle nestablities.

Come play along and be sure to post your creations in the Paper Craft Planet forum.

Happy Holidays!!!!

Holiday Ornaments

For out Mothers & Daughters Creations challenge this week we were to make ornaments. That is definitely a fun thing to do.

For this tree ornament I used a wood tree shape I had in my stash. I covered it with awesome glitter paper by Best Creations. I added some fun Christmas presents to the bottom, this image is by Imagainisce.

Mothers & Daughters Scrapbook Challenge

This week the challenge is to "cover it" or use Ribbons. So I decided to "cover it". I picked a piece of chip board by Imaginisce and covered it with some pattern paper. This is my piece on the bottom with the date. I know I kept this pretty simple but I also loved that great mouse image by Stampavie and wanted him to get a look on this page. I colored him in with Copics and added Stickles.

This was taken the other day. My little ones have been fascinated with the ornaments this year and they keep rearranging them. But over all they have been good about it.

Be sure to swing by the MDC Challenge blog to see what the rest of the DT team cooked up for this challenge.

Thanks for stopping by.

Unity Hip Hop Hangover

In the Unity forum at SCS, Angela is holding a little "contest". She is looking for ideas of make n takes for this winter CHA. I made this apron card as an idea for her. I used to make apron cards all the time. They can be so super simple or a bit more involved. I kept my simple for the purposes of the make n take which should be quick but cool. I tried to keep with the Unity colors and polka dot theme.

These apron cards are cool because they have a great pocket in the back. It's a great place for a business card, candy, tea bag, a Unity coupon perhaps for the make n take. The little card I stuck in there I made myself just for viewing purposes, it is not a "real" Unity business card.

What do you think, would it make a nice make n take?

That's it for now. Today we are expecting snow, great! I love looking at snow but it is a bit annoying. Oh well, we'll see how much we get.

Saturday Sketch Challenge

It's Saturday again and time for another sketch challenge from Lauren. Check out this week's awesome sketch.

I used some Unity stamps for this challenge. I used the little flowers from Ginormous Cupcakes. And the little flower in the top scallop is from the kit Fanciful Dots. I cut the scalloped edge on the bottom using the Fiskars scallop punch and I embossed it with my Cuttlebug. All the cool flowers are heat embossed with my Ranger "stream" embossing powder.

I hope that you enjoyed my take on this week's sketch. Be sure to swing by the blogs of the other sketch girls as I know they will have something great to show you for some Saturday inspiration.

Hip Hop Hangover

It's Friday and that means a hangover from the Unity Hip Hop yesterday. Did you check it out? Angela did a live hip hop chat, very cool! Once again I did a layout for hip hop hangover. Of course I'm into Unity Scrapbooking lately! Here is the layout I came up with.

I used multiple Unity kits on this layout. My little Kaitlyn's favorite color is pink, of course. So I used shades of pink. I also added stickles to the deer and the flowers. Gotta love those stickles!

Well that's it for now.

Thanks for stopping in.

MDC Thursday Challenge

This week is a simple sketch challenge card.

I decided for my image to use this awesome Penguin trio by Serendipity stamps. I stamped them on acetate, colored a bit with copics and added stickles for the ice. The pattern paper is by Daisy Bucket.

Queen Kat Royal Wednesday

Sorry I'm a little late today! But it's Wednesday and that means another day of Royalty. It's Queen Kat Royal Wednesday. This week the challenge is to make an ornament. With Christmas around the corner this is a great challenge. Fill your trees with some Queen Kat!

Here is my creation for this challenge. I just love this robot from the Over the Moon set. I have been and will continue to use him often! I started this with a unfinished wooden shape from Michael's. Covered it with DCWV papers. Stamped the robot and paper pieced him, added the rest of the color using Copics. Very simple and I think he looks great! :-)

Come on over to the QKD forum on PCP and play along with us. There will be a random drawing from those who come and play along.

Here is this week's installment of Lauren's weekly sketch challenge. This is the awesome sketch and here is what I did with it. I decided to flip it. I used Build a Snowman by Queen Kat Designs. My papers are from a glitter stack pack by DCWV. I thought it would be funky to stamp the snowman right on the snowflake paper and cut him out. The "create" sentiment is from the QKD set called Friends Forever. I punched out the snowflake using the Fiskars snowflake punch and adding a glittery dot to it.

Hip Hop Hangover - Scrapbook Layouts

It's Friday and that means it Hip Hop Hangover! What does that mean you ask? Well, every Thursday all day and all night everyone is "hip hopping" in the Unity Forum at SCS. Unity offers lots of prizes for games and challenges throughout hthe day as well as super specials.

Then on Friday when everyone is hip hop hungover we post our Unity creations. This week I am posting two layouts. They both use all Unity images and SU solids.
The monkey paper on this first layout I'm not sure who makes that one. I made this cute monkey layout for this Wednesday Unity Addicts Challenge in the SCS forum. It was to simply make a layout! What fun this was to make. I used the SCS Scrapbook sketch #166.

My second one I just went with and didn't follow a challenge or a sketch. But I think it came out pretty cool. I used SU Solids and DCWV paper. Of course all the images are Unity.

Well that's it for now.

MDC Thursday Challenge

This week the Mothers & Daughters Creations challenge was to make a holiday themed shaped card. What fun! As I was thinking about what to make I saw this wooden unfinished ornament in Micheal's. I do hord these things to decorate.
I thought how cute would this be as a little gift card! Sooooo, I used it as a template and this is what I came up with. That adorable image is by Imaginisce stamps. I colored in a bit and used stickles on his hands and liquid pearls on his hat to look like snow. The awesome pattern paper is by My Little Yellow Bicycle.
